VICTOR CHENG (Vancouver/Taipei)
Victor Cheng has been a professional DJ/Remixer since 1988 and has spun in major cities across Asia, San Francisco, and Vancouver. His music styles include House, Tech-house, Tribal and Techno.
Victor has released two DJ-Mix compilation CDs, his debut album "TeXound Version 002" in May 2002, and his second "Ricochet" in 2004, released by Avex Trax. He has been a resident DJ at "AXD/TeXound" (The ⋯⋯Best Club for underground dance music scene in Taipei) for the past 7 years, has frequently been a guest DJ in other major cities in Taiwan, has performed at Ageha Tokyo several times between 2006 and 2008 and for the closing party at "Nation" on Phuket Island, Thailand in both November 2005 and October 2006. Some of the major events he has performed at include Sasha, Carl Cox, Murk, Tom Stephan, as well as Taipei Gay Pride 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. He was a guest DJ for the Vancouver Winter Pride launch party at Celebrities Nightclub. He had his successful US debut at Shangri-la @ The End Up and Dragon in San Francisco in February 2010.
Victor Cheng 是一個少數能在DJ set 裡注入讓群眾身體與心靈去感受一個完整且流暢故事性的DJ。不論是悅耳的或艱澀的舞曲，在他精心調味下，皆被整合為一個充滿耐人尋味，極盡撫媚與討逗，刺激腎上腺素的迷幻之旅。
曾經被票選為台灣最頂尖的DJ之一的Victor Cheng，其實僅以一個不斷專研前瞻性電子舞曲的狂熱樂迷自居，而在舞廳放唱片僅像是另一個管道和方式與大家一起分享他的音樂熱誠。這份執著也提供了他 20年來DJ生涯的無窮動力，並將他從台灣 (包括連續7年擔任TeXound / AXD週末駐場DJ，連續2004/2005/2006/2007年四度受邀至Taipei Pride派對演出，及連續8年受邀至墾丁四月電子音樂節演出…等) 推往如東京 (連續2006/2007年受邀至AgeHa演出)、漢城、香港、北京、上海、普吉島 (連續2005/2006年受邀至“Nation”的閉幕派對演出)、甚至克羅埃西亞、舊金山、溫哥華...等國際舞台。在這些豐富的音樂旅程裡，曾經和他同台演出的國際頂級DJ無數，其中包括如 Sasha，Carl Cox，Murk， Richie Hawtin， Tom Stephan…等等。
Victor Cheng之所以如此廣受歡迎，就在於他獨樹一格的Tribal/Electro/Tech House融合性音樂路線，但他多年來廣泛涉及其他不同音樂類型的熱情，無形中也拓展了他的DJ 風格的深度與多樣性。例如他承襲 70年代 Disco音樂中最性感、最戲劇性的韻律感來打造他的音樂根本架構，並保留80年代 New Wave / New Romantic 音樂中大膽前衛的聽覺感官探索精神來豐富他的音樂原創素材， 甚至於他私下對Glam Rock，Industrial Music及Avant Garde Art的涉略，無形中都為他的DJ風格裡注入了一股令人窒息的詭異魅力與挑釁意圖。
除了舉辦派對及在舞廳擔任DJ外，DJ Victor Cheng 亦從事音樂創作。他曾發表兩張DJ混音專輯，分別是2002年的首張個人混音專輯“TeXound version 002”， 及2004年於艾貝克司唱片旗下發行的“Ricochet”混音專輯。除此以外，他也錄製了許多極具創意的私房舞曲混音單曲，其中最讓人拍案叫絕的歌像是 Madonna的Vogue，備受名DJ Tom Stephan激賞而在其主持的英國電台節目裡大力播放。
不容置疑的，Victor Cheng的魅力是兼具親合力又具前瞻性，所以不論他的DJ set曾經開啟多少人的新視野，或是他主理的Party曾經帶給多少人一生中最神奇最難忘的歡樂，Victor Cheng依舊秉持著他勇於嘗試與不妥協的音樂理念。
